I've told my story here and in my presentations . . . Tell everyone YOUR story! How is YOUR struggle going? What success have YOU had?

19 Alarms Dementia Clock w/ Remote Control

My first experience with one of these was after my mom was diagnosed with early onset dementia.  Everybody loved the clock.  I have one in my living room today.  They are excellent.  And this one has 16 alarms, reminder screens for taking meds, etc. and a remote.  I cannot recommend it highly enough.

The reason for what causes diabetes is not known. Really. But, there are risk factors that make your chances of being diagnosed with diabetes higher. One of the only risk factors that you actually have any control over is your weight. The single best thing you can do for your health and the prevention of diabetes is to lose weight. Even in small increments, when you lose weight you are increasing your health benefits.

There are studies now showing that there seems to be a genetic factor, or mutation, in some people who are obese and have diabetes. This genetic malfunction affects how the body uses energy and insulin – two of the key elements in the proper functioning of your body and the cause of diabetes and obesity.

The studies also show that it is not a “cause and effect” situation. Just because you carry this defective gene doesn’t mean you’re guaranteed to be obese or diabetic. But there is a link there. You may have to work harder than others to maintain a healthy weight and hold off diabetes, but it can be done.

This diabetic precursor gene has even been found in young children. How sad that preschool children are being diagnosed with obesity and Type 2 diabetes because of their genetics.

You can reduce or prevent these things from happening and you can prevent it In children by adopting a healthy lifestyle and making healthy, carb aware choices.
