NOW Supplements, Vitamin B-100

Make sure your daily multivitamin has sufficient vitamin B12 since Metformin has been shown to affect B12 levels in Type 2 diabetics.  A daily B-Complex supplement can be added if necessary.

Today diabetes has become a common disease among people. It is caused due to mismanagement of carbohydrate metabolism inside the body.

When it comes to the treatment of diabetes, the main concern should to control your blood glucose (sugar). Managing blood glucose (sugar) is the touchstone of a diabetes treatment program.

Elimnating the complications of diabetes requires you to take the disease seriously and adopt healthy lifestyle practices. Monitoring glucose levels with regular testing can let you know progress.

Complications mainly depend on controlling blood glucose (sugar) but age and progress of the disease are also factors. The younger you are and the earlier you catch it, the better off you are.

“Normal” blood glucose (sugar) for younger people should be in the 80-120 mg/dL glucose (sugar) range and older people should be in the 100-140 mg/dL glucose (sugar) range.

A good diabetes treatment program will include specific self-treatments like a healthy diet, proper exercise, maintaining healthy weight, and occasionally, medication.

A healthy diet does not mean bland, tasteless food but means lean proteins, natural fats, fresh vegetables, some fresh fruits, and other low carb, high fiber foods that are high in nutrition.

A healthy diabetes treatment program will make use of a variety of low impact, age and health appropriate activities like a morning or evening walk, biking, swimming, etc. Remember . . . consist, regular activity is important for you to get the best results.

Maintain a healthy weight because being overweight is dangerous factor and helps make your cells more resistant to insulin. Make a reasonable, healthy weight loss plan that you can live with and live by it to make the best results.

If you are prescribed medication, it can take a very important role in your treatment, especially in the beginning of your treatment program.

It should be clear now that diabetes is manageable if you give it serious daily attention. Although diabetes is life long, it doesn’t have to mean life long suffering, let alone the end of your life.

Always remember that if you maintain your self-discipline and self-control, you will be in control of your disease with each and every step of your treatment program.
