According to a systematic review pertaining to the effects of chamomile on metabolic markers, the herb is shown to improve various measures of blood sugar control and glucose intolerance over a period of time. In rats with diabetes, blood sugar improved from 14-59 per cent. In another trial involving 64 people with type-2 diabetes, drinking three cups of chamomile tea helped reduce average blood sugar within eight to 12 weeks by 11 per cent.
